Death messages are short strings of text that appear upon hovering the mouse over an in-game ragdoll within a certain range. They appear for all player classes that leave a corpse upon dying, including SCPs, and the text within them is entirely dependent on the cause of death, not varying when different classes are killed by the same method.

Most death messages were re-written sometime around 2019, usually to be more brief, concise, or clinical.
